We had a lovely drive with Kullo and learned about the history of Estonia and Latvia. As there were just two of us, we had some choices with regard to the places we visited. We stopped at Viljandi and visited the castle, walked through a lovely forest and saw the sand cliffs, stopped for a delicious Latvian lunch and visited the bobsled track. He was willing to take us more places too. In all, it was a great way to see the countryside and get from Tallinn to Riga!

Can I give this more stars?? This private tour (2 of us) was incredible and worth every cent... and calorie! The food stops and selection were fantastic. The food is hearty and real. We learned about the country, the people & culture, the food (obviously), the city of Tallinn. I HIGHLY recommend sharing dishes where feasible since there are so many delicious options and you will want to try everything. Our guide Jae had led our earlier walking tour, so what a treat to spend even more time with her on the food tour. We never felt rushed or like this was a 'job' for Jae, but rather like we have made a new friend in Estonia who is passionate about her home and food. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Tallinn, Estonia is now more than a small far away place on the map, and all food tours (and guides) will have a such high bar for greatness.

"Definitely worth it!"

Had a fantastic small group trip, four of us plus Johanna, and she shared a lot of history and anecdotes about the places we visited. We stopped at Jagala water fall, both fishing villages, the national park for a hike, and the Viru bog. She knew a lot about forging as well, and we tried a couple of things on the walk. The fog was the group favorite. I think, it was just so otherworldly! I’d definitely recommend a trip with the company, and especially Johanna!

"The most "NARVA-lous" tour ever!"

Cloudy skies and drizzly rain could not dampen our enthusiasm for our tour of Estonia: Narva, Sillamae and the Ghost City! Johanna's knowledge and personality overflowed as she drove the Renault van two hours to Narva and back. She explained the why and when of each location (including military history) of the Hermann Castle and the Ghost City, plus the many “faces” of Simmalie throughout its history. She opened its museum just for us! Her fluency in Russian, Estonian and English were impeccable!

"Stunning day with the Lahemaa National Park Day Tour!"

I had a wonderful day! Under the supervision of our very friendly guide George, we left for a full day to explore the region. What I liked the most though, was that George could tell a lot about the situation of the Estonian people, at present as well as in the past. Very interesting indeed. We visited the waterfall and had a wonderful walk along the coastline. After lunch we visited a grand house and hunting museum. Also very nice. And last but not least we had an extensive walk through some kind of moory area. We walked on a kind of jetty, for kilometers... Very impressing! And then we were tired.... We were only with 6 persons, and that was also very nice. A small group. Thanks very much for this lovely day!

"Trip to a city that did not exist"

We enjoyed our private tour with guide George, he tailored our day to our wishes and was knowledgeable and entertaining. Our first stop was a waterfall and a seashore. Actually, the waterfall ended in the beach, and the mix of both soothing water sounds really made my day (and I put them in a sound loop to create a sleeping sound :-) My travel compagnion best experience were the different sweet smells of the forests we have been in. We visited the Narva castle and I had never been so close to the Ru border. Then we had an excellent lunch in a university building and went for our last stop, Sillamäe. This is a small city with a crazy history. From fishermanstown, to luxury resort, to industrial oil plant, to concentrations camps, to a uranium plant to manufacture a nuclear bomb, and that gave the status of a secret and closed town, wiped off the map. And in recent history everyone can freely enjoy the promenade and seashore. So did we.

I booked the Riga - Vilnius tour hoping to learn more about the history. This tour did not disappoint. Our guide, Lauda (Laura), was a proud Lithuanian but helped us to understand the history and cultures of all Baltic States. I have travelled to many places and she had one of the best personalities I have met. The day went fast driving between the various monuments, castles and small towns. The restaurants selected for the lunch was also well done.

Eight of us booked the 5 hour tour while we were visiting on a cruise. It was our best tour with the best guide. Chris picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise terminal. Chris was informative and passionate as he told us about Tallinn history while walking us through the old town and pointing out important buildings and landmarks. The town is beautiful, and the history is interesting and sad at times, but that of resilient people. We then got into the van went to Kadriorg Palace. Chris dropped us off at a great cafe and then drove up to the other end of the park and walked back. While he did that we ordered our pastries and sat down and rested for a bit. He caught up with us and we all finished up and made the walk through the park to the palace. We walked further to the presidential palace where the president actually lives. Unbelievably we were able to talk right in front of it. There were a couple of guards but there was not a sense that they need to worry. We ended with a drive to an up and coming neighborhood in Tallinn that is repurposing old buildings and making high end apartments. We were back to the ship with an hour to spare which is how we like it. The day was wonderful. Chris was amazing. As we walked by the cruise groups with 50 people, we kept saying…. This was the way to go.

We booked this tour as a private one because we wanted the flexibility to potentially see things that weren't described in the trip listing. We were not disappointed! Our guide had arranged a surprise for our group, a meeting the previous mayor of a town on the way to Narva. The tour included interesting sites that you would never see if only visiting Tallinn. Our guide, Sten, was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor in sharing stories about all the places we visited. It is a long trip, but totally worth it, especially our last stop at the beautiful cliff side waterfall and hike down to the beach on the Baltic sea where we looked for fossils.

I was hoping to use this trip as a nice step outside the city and to see the famous Estonian bogs, and it was such a perfect day. The tour was absalutely fantastic. I highly reccomend it. A brilliant way to get from One City in one country to another. The tour included 3 castles, a national park a military museum and a bobsleigh track a fab mix of things. We were a small group of 4 plus the tour guide which was a good size fore me. As a solo traveller it was lovely to have a whole day spent with other travellers and not have to do the planning I just had to enjoy it. Our guide Mike was lovely really easy going told us lots of info about each place and interesting personal history too. Its really great value for money amd pretty much the highlight of my trip so far.

I didn't expect anything, just a drive to Riga. But in the end, all group was having so much fun and we have seen really interesting places in Estonia and Latvia. In the end, but no less important, Liine is one great guide, so nice, professional and full of knowledge.

Six of us did the tour on Monday with the wonderful guide, Mia. Young but incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, Mia took us under the skin of Tallinn and we tried Russian food (soup and the ubiquitous potato salad), fabulous ice cream, different meats and bread, flavoured cream cheeses, fish salad, a traditional dessert and liqueur! All for €49 in 3.25 hours. Great value and we learnt so much about Estonian history as well as food traditions and local delicacies. We would never have found the food halls which were well worth a visit- we revisited for street food lunch the following day! Highly recommend the tour.

Tallinn's old town seems to be getting the global attention for being one of the most underrated travel destinations, but I would say I was even more blown away by the nature (beautiful bogs) and the small fishing village of Estonia. We travelled from Tallin to a small town in Latvia’s north, Mazsalaca. 5 of us and our guide Liine through a wintery, dramatic landscape. It was one of the best trips ever because as we drove Liine gave us a history lesson that was so wonderful and clear and interesting that even the teenagers were enthralled. Suddenly we were no longer just in a bus, we were part of the crusades or part of the war. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we looked at the world around us with new eyes. I would have gladly turned around and done the trip once more that same day. That’s how good it was. Thank you so much Liine and your wonderful company, I can not recommend you highly enough. We did the free tour through Tallinn on a Sunday and Henri was a very good guide, concise, funny and told very interesting stories, knew the answer to all the questions and gave us insights into the town and people -- like the Estonian way of greeting close friends (by looking away and maybe grunting "Tere!"). We had thought it had something to do with us up to that point! And we are from Germany... Glad to have that cleared up. We did the Tallinn to Riga tour at the end of September and had Kris as our driver. Our family of 6 wanted a tour where we could walk the old city and also see other sights like the summer palace. In addition, we had special dietary needs. John (getting his Master's in History) was such an amazing host. He met us off the ship and both drove and walked us around. He brought us to a great restaurant for a gluten free lunch. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Don't hesitate to book your cruise shore tour with them. Much better than what is offered on the ship.

We had a great time on the Funky Bike Tour of Kalamaja. Our guide Maria was enthusiastic and friendly. She gave us so much information about Estonia, she patiently answered our plethora of questions, and she paced the tour so that it was interesting and active for us parents and our two teen daughters. Our kids loved it! Maria even brought us Estonian candy, sharing it at just the moment when we all needed a sugar hit! The biking was easy and the day, beautiful! We would highly recommend the tour and Maria as a guide!

As we traveled through the the forest and bogs, Lline did a magnificent job telling us stories of Estonia, it's myths and legends; she pointed out flowers, moss etc. used in traditional medicine. It was absolutely wonderful! We then went to visit an abandoned soviet submarine demagnetization base. Lline's descriptive narrative made the base come alive - it was eerie yet fascinating. Our next stop was lunch at a great local restaurant near the Old Town, free from the mass of tourists. We then went on a walking tour of the Old Town. Lline pointed out interesting things in the city that we would have missed had we gone on a self guided tour. We ended our day knowing more about Estonia, appreciating its history and culture and yearning to return for more. Of all the tours we took on our Baltic cruise, this was by far, our favorite. Tip: Estonia has the highest quality handmade items and the prices are very reasonable. This is the place to buy unique gifts.

"I have no words, you just have to try this"

Did the husky experience. I don't have the words, you just have to try this. The Dogs were so awesome and super friendly and cute huskies (from all over the world, as we were told. The one I got was from Latvia, her name was Enna) and the family running the place was so nice and welcoming. Ploughing through snow with dogs is somehow a primal experience. At the end of it we were exhausted but super happy. A must activity in winter!

I wanted to visit several places in Estonia, to find out more about my mother's homeland but was confident enough to drive myself, so I went on a private tour. Anneli was fantastic organising the details of the day and my tour guide JJ made the day do special, I will never forget it. Tartu was the main town we visited but we also stopped at Laiuse and Poltsamaa and a windmill at Kuremaa. JJ had researched all the places we stopped very thoroughly. The tour of the printing museum in Tartu and visiting the university there were both special to me. The tour was over 12 hours and I couldn't have done it otherwise. I highly recommend Tallinn Traveller Tours, they are very professional and well-organized which is what you want when you are on holidays in a different country.

In August 2015, we (4 adults) used Tallinn Traveller Tours to organize appx. 7 hr tour of Tallinn with Katlin. We had an excellent time! Tallinn Traveller Tours took the time to organize a private trip and answer countless of emails and questions. The company was able to organize a fantastic tour, according to what we wanted to see and learn about. Katlin was fantastic! She was very knowledgeable and full of energy! Although our tour had officially ended, she still took us to one more place (the Song Festival Grounds) because she felt it was important for us to see this historical place. We were so grateful for this! Our tour included a van, which was new and clean. There were water bottles waiting for us in the van. During the tour, we decided not to go to one of the planned museums. The company refunded the money right away without any hassles and without us having to remind them. Overall, Tallinn Traveller Tours is a very professional tour company with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I took their first day trip to Riga and I'm so glad I chose that option instead of the normal 5 hour bus. The Estonian and Latvian countryside is so beautiful and I would have missed it all, since this trip follows an alternative road to Riga. I was lucky enough to experience a personal tour, during the winter season with three guides, as they were creating a new tour to bring in for the summer season. Spent the day exploring several hidden spots of Estonia. Highlights included the Padise monastery, Haapsalu & Ungru Castle. Each guide was full of interesting information about each place we visited and definitely have a real love for Estonia. I couldn't have asked for a better experience as a lone traveller. "Amazing trip"

When we first saw advertising posters of tours offered to Lahemaa national park, we didn't even think about doing one. After a few days we had to admit that it is quite difficult, if not impossible, to get to Lahemaa national park without a private vehicle. So we decided to do this trip. Mart was our guide and showed up in a very good mood in the morning to pick us up. He was very friendly the whole day, brought us to beautiful places and told us a lot about Estonia. We felt like having a local friend showing us the best places of Lahemaa. Without him we could never have found all the places. One of the highlights was the Kasmu Maritime Museum, run by an Estonian family who served us an amazing lunch and guided us through the museum. Also scenic walks and spectacular nature views we had - all that accompanied in a group of 4 persons, very flexible and individual. PERFECT!! Bottom line: DO IT! Thank you Mart for this amazing trip!!

This was my 8th visit to Tallinn and although I don’t usually go on organised trips we came across Tallinn Traveller Info by chance and signed up for the Paldiski tour. "Definitely value for money"

This was such a great tour, definitely value for money. We were a group of six of ages ranging from 30s to 60s and all thoroughly enjoyed visiting Lahemaa National Park with our guide, Kalev. He was so friendly and didn't mind our constant questions about life in Estonia etc and also did a detour on the way as we wanted to see Jagala waterfall. Brilliant day.

We just finished a 16 day trip that we're affectionately calling our "Medieval Tour" because we visited 11 European cities that had Old City Centers dating back to the 13th Century. Tallin was our last city tour (a total of 9 across 16 days) and Ann did an outstanding job.
